Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25, 1970) is an American former tight end in the NFL. Gonzalez played for the National Football League from 1997 until 2003. One of the NFL's most successful tight ends and third-best overall receiver, he's been ranked as the NFL's top tight end by the number of receiving yards, receptions and receptions, among other things.
The former Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez currently serves as a FOX Sports Studio analyst. Gonzalez has been anchoring FOX NFL KICKOFF for the past few years. FOX NFL KICKOFF is FOX NFL's pregame program that precedes FOX NFLSUNDAY. The show airs at 11:00 AM ET every Sunday during NFL season.
Gonzalez was released by the Falcons on the 15th of March 2013 for a contract of $14 million for two years. He did this regardless of the fact that he had claimed that he would retire at the close of the season. With the retirement of Randy Moss, 37-year-old Gonzalez spent his last season as the leader of the NFL's active players in yards receptive.
